Longtime Favourites return to Dancehall Night

Reggae Sumfest  organizers are announcing more names to the festival’s lineup. Returning to The Greatest Reggae Show on Earth are Popcaan, I-Octane along with Spice for the 2016 staging of the event.
Popcaan, Octane and Spice were all stars of last year’s show and are also long time favourites owing to their exuberant performances and are expected to execute on Dancehall Night July 22- 23.

Unruly Boss Popcaan will take the stage yet again on Dancehall night to perform fan favourites, Ova Dweet, Never Sober, Everything is Nice, Way Up, Unruly Prayer. Popcaan is also one of the Jamaican artistes sampled by Drake. His Love Ya Bad single from the 2014 album Where We Come From was sampled on Drake’s Too Good track, which also features Bajan songstress Rihanna.

I-Octane is also due to deliver to Reggae Sumfest patrons his myriad of hits including Lose a Friend, Wine and Jiggle, Hurt by friends, Prison Life, No Badda Dan Jah. The reggae sensation has customarily closed Dancehall night two years in a row excluding last year where dancehall pioneer Lady Saw instead stole the show.

Female Dancehall deejay Spice is notably known for her onstage theatrics, as she hit the stage last year in a robotic suit with flashing lights accompanied by robotic moves. The ‘head top’-dancing dancing artiste well known for her fan favourites A So Mi Like It, Needle Eye and Bend Ova is set to deliver another rousing performance this year.

The transformed Reggae Sumfest 2016 explodes in Montego Bay, with Sumfest Beach Party to take place at the Aqua Sol Theme Park on Sunday July 17; the All White Party hits Pier 1 on Tuesday July 19, Dancehall Night revs up on the Friday at Catherine Hall. Reggae Sumfest will end with a bang on Saturday July 23 dubbed as Reggae Night with performances from top Jamaican artistes.

Tickets for Reggae Sumfest 2016 can be purchased online on the festival’s website.
