Sean Paul Closes UN Climate Change Conference in France

Multi-platinum dancehall star Sean Paul brought the COP21 Climate Change Conference to a close today at Le Bourget in Paris with the environmental anthem, Love Song to the Earth.  The 21st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21/CMP11) began on November 30.

The video for the single Love Song to the Earth premiered during the singer’s performance which closed the conference.  The powerful visual to this universal message featured Natasha Bedingfield, Paul McCartney, Sean Paul, dressed in white delivering crisp compelling lyrics encouraging the protection of the natural environment.

In delivering his message the platinum selling artiste explained, “Living on a small island, environmental changes are very obvious to me. Clean air and water are things we owe to our children and grandchildren so if we don’t act now, there will be no future. I’m happy to be able to be a part of this initiative because all proceeds of this song goes towards helping the environment so it’s the least I can do.

Sean Paul was joined by Jerry Cope, organizer of the Love Song to the Earth single and video, Nick Nuttall, Momentum of Cange and the Secretary General of the UN, Banki Moon.

Love Song to the Earth features performances by Sean Paul, Paul McCartney, Jon Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, Fergie, Colbie Caillat, Natasha Bedingfield, Leona Lewis, Johnny Rzeznik, Krewella, Angelique Kidjo (a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador), Kelsea Ballerini, Nicole Scherzinger, Christina Grimmie, Victoria Justice and Q’Orianka Kilcher. Written by Sean Paul, Toby Gad, Natasha Bedingfield and John Shanks, and produced by Toby Gad and John Shanks. The artistes, producers and directors of the Love Song project - as well as Apple - are donating their respective proceeds to Friends of the Earth U.S. and the United Nation Foundation.
