Think Globally, Eat Locally!

Lasco Releaf Environmental Awareness Program (R.E.A.P) LAUNCH

In recognition of National Tree Planting Day, LASCO, Rootz Underground and celebrity friends will officially launch the second installment of the national environmental awareness project called LASCO Releaf Environmental Awareness Programme (REAP) on Friday October 4 at the Denham Town Primary School.

Themed, ‘Think Globally, Eat Locally!’ the launch event will be attended by Member of Parliament for Western Kingston, Mr. Desmond McKenzie, JP, and see  guest performances and appearances by Reggae acts such as Nomadz, Kieda, Skygrass, Rawdeal, Half Pint along with other special guest presenters. The programme begins at 9:00a.m and will be aired live on RJR.

Charged by the success of the programme last year, Project Director and Lead Singer of Rootz Underground band, Stephen Newland, expresses gratitude to the REAP sponsors and the participating schools whose enthusiasm have added character, value and energy to the programme.

“We are very pleased to be launching the LASCO REAP 2013/2014 project. It was a huge success last year thanks to LASCO Distributors and Sandals Foundation. We are excited, as are all the students, to see what positive impact we will make on the environment this upcoming school year,” Stephen Newland shared.

Committed to the REAP Project for the second year as title sponsor, LASCO has pledged full support of this environmental ground breaking movement and will also be delivering all smiles to our guests with their exciting giveaways at the launch on Friday.

LASCO REAP is environmental awareness- building programme that seeks to facilitate an increase in Jamaican children’s participation in environmentally friendly activities, and increasing awareness of the lifestyle/environment correlation.
