Stone Love Still Stands

Kingston, Jamaica: The Immortal Stone Love celebrates an impressive 38 years at a bash in Portmore on Saturday December 18.

The annual Stone Love celebration is a remarkable affair and popular event on the Jamaican entertainment calendar. Only the Stone Love Anniversary could guarantee the attendance of all the Stone Love selectors at one signature event. Foundation Stone Love selectors Rory, Geefus, Billy Slaughter and Billy Cosby join new recruits Diamond, Fire Ras, Randy Rich and Scary Gary on the "one's and two's".

As popular as the selectors are, the landmark Stone Love dub plates is what defines dancehall. Dubs like Buju Banton and Wayne Wonder's Forever Young, Johnny Osbourne and Shabba's Ice Cream Sound and Ronnie Thwaites The Wickedest Time resonate will please reggae lovers worldwide.

For younger dancehall fans, that may have missed the Stone Love House of Leo experience, a cadre of artistes and sound systems will perform in tribute to Stone Love. Past anniversary events have featured Renaissance, Metro Media, Coppershot, Tony Matterhorn, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Cham and countless other dancehall luminaries.

For this staging, Stone Love returns to Portmore, has a special admission and revamped awards ceremony for the Saturday December 18 event.
