Dancehall’s money goddess Macka Diamond has been busy with her career, and by the looks of thing, the self-proclaimed money goddess isn’t slowing down anytime soon. In addition to her role as a mother and deejay, Macka Diamond has added author to her resume, and recently completed shooting for her first movie Redemption of Paradise as the lead actress.
And now, as we wind down 2009, Macka Diamond is looking to put some serious work into her upcoming studio album, dabbling a little more in the world of Soca and one-drop reggae tunes, penning her second novel, and looking into her business interests.
“It’s a real good place to be in life right now,” explained the artiste, whose real name is Charmaine Munroe.
“I’m trying some new things, but I’m not leaving the dancehall or my first love of music. The books, the movies and the business interest I’m looking at, it’s all secondary to my music,” she says.
Macka, who says she’s restructuring her management as she looks forward to a busy Christmas and 2010, has been doing some heavy recording for her Trinidad and Tobago fans and soca lovers with big names like Fay Ann Lyons and Denise Belfon, and is working with top producers from Trinidad like those from the Machel Montano and the HD Family camp.
The ‘Money Goddess’ is known in and around Caribbean circles as an energetic performer, and she’s currently in New York fulfilling Tri-state area performances before she heads to Trinidad and St Marteen for another sets of whirlwind, full-of-life performances.
