Singer’s nights always seem to bring the crowd out at Christopher’s and Thursday July 31 was no different. Christopher’s located on the ground floor of the multi level night club Quad, saw a very good turn out as singer Andy Livingston graced the stage and gave three 45 minute sets. Good talent is hard to find, some may say, but singer’s night at Christopher’s make it look easy.
Livingston who favoured a number of Dennis Brown and Beres Hammond tracks is no stranger to the performing world as he has been to places like Japan, Canada and of course the United States to do promotional tours. Livingston recognises that his own music has suffered a little because of these tours but also states that seeing a crowd on their feet gyrating and appreciating his music is worth it and it is this love that he has for performing that keeps him going.
Performing tracks like Luciano’s Sleep Over My Soul and It’s Me Again Jah set a perfectly good tone for the rest of the night. The lover’s rock artiste did a very entertaining cover of Beres Hammond’s Step Aside and Denis Brown’s You Don’t Know that had the crown lauding for more. His original tracks Gun Man and Good People were well appreciated by the attentive crowd and this just motivated Livingston to go on and share his version of Robin Thicke’s Lost Without You, real Reggae style.
Livingston has plans on putting out an album that will be released on rebelmix.com later this year. His single, a Reggae cover of One Republic’sToo Late to Apologise has been doing very well overseas and he has been back and forth promoting.
See more talent at Christopher’s every Tuesday and Thursday night. Good talent is hard to find but singer’s night at Christopher’s make it look easy.
